Avoid problems such as oil emulsions, sudden lever voids, air problems after operating the lever with the vertical bike, and finally better management of the oil volume change Simpler bleeding procedure - with built-in bleeding nipple in the highest position, to make bleeding faster and more effective New caliper mounting holes, for better and faster centering of the caliper on the frame New pad pin with safety clip Modified caliper O-ring housing geometry and tolerances for better piston roll-back and faster oil flow Possibility to install 3 mm thick discs directly – without the need for spacer, and without disassembling the caliper All this makes F.I.R.S.T. superior to IN.CA. S in terms of customization and performance possibilities, but above all it makes the system EASIER to assemble, bleed and maintain. What is possible to customize: Cartridge F.I.R.S.T. (and IN.CA. S) are the only brakes on the market to have the possibility to replace the cartridge, changing the diameter of the piston to change the braking action. With the 9mm cartridge you have a more linear but more powerful braking action. The smaller area ensures higher pressures in the pipes (more power), while the lower flow rate of fluid means that a greater stroke of the lever is necessary to transfer the same volume of fluid to the caliper (greater modulation) With the 10mm cartridge you have a more immediate braking action at the beginning of the stroke but less powerful. The larger area develops lower pressures in the pipes (lower peak power), while the higher fluid flow rate means that the lever stroke to transfer the same volume of fluid is lower than the 9mm cartridge stroke (less modular, more ON/OFF) Link Size With the replacement of the link you go to modify the reaction arm of the pump acting on the power of the system. There are three Link sizes available: Short – More powerful braking action Standard, supplied as standard – Medium powerful braking action Long – Less powerful but more modular braking action Discs and Pads Our F.I.R.S.T. system is compatible with all our discs in all diameters, even 3mm without the need to mount the ventilated spacer as was the case with IN.CA.S. The choice of disc greatly affects the performance of the brake: pay attention to the choice of diameter and thickness of the disc. For light riders it is not advisable to mount a disc with increased diameter and thickness because you risk never being able to bring the pads to the correct temperature to maximize performance. Conversely, for a heavy rider, too small discs and reduced thicknesses are not advisable. The pads are also essential for proper braking. Light riders can be recommended softer pads that immediately enter the temperature, while heavier riders are better advised to recommend harder pads, for optimal heat management. Compatibility F.I.R.S.T. and IN.CA.S F.I.R.S.T. uses the same pads and hydraulic hoses as IN.CA.S. The same fittings can therefore be used for assembly All other spare parts are not compatible!
