Der SKF-Schwimmkolben ist als Ersatz für den OEM-Separator konzipiert, ohne dass die OEM-Ausgleichsbehälterkonstruktion geändert werden muss. Der SKF-Schwimmkolben besteht aus der speziellen reibungsarmen SKF-Mischung. Zwei Dichtlippen an den Behälterwänden gewährleisten eine perfekte Abdichtung und Trennung von Öl und Gas. Darüber hinaus ist der mittlere Bereich der Kolbenmembran flexibel gestaltet. Der mit dem SKF-Schwimmkolben ausgestattete Ausgleichsbehälter ermöglicht eine verbesserte Stoßdämpfung bei der Absorption kleiner, hochfrequenter Stöße und optimiert den Ölaustausch zwischen Karosserie und Ausgleichsbehälter. Die flexible Mittelmembran verformt sich zuerst und antizipiert so die vollständige Kolbenbewegung, wodurch die Stoßdämpfung bei kleinen Stößen verbessert wird.
