Out of the factory, the Yamaha Ténéré 700 is a good all-rounder, but if you really use it offroad or in rallies, you run into a few recurring issues: the front fork, the low front fender that clogs with mud, the riding position and the protection. BOANO Race Parts from Italy has developed parts for exactly those issues. In this guide we list, problem by problem, which part you need and which version of the T7 it fits.
Short answer: start with protection and a high front fender (Kit A and B, from €58.95). If you ride really tough terrain, the KYB 48 mm closed cartridge fork kit is the biggest improvement, but also the biggest investment (from €3,374.95).
1. Suspension: the KYB 48 mm closed cartridge fork kit
The stock fork of the T7 is the weak point when riding hard. The BOANO KYB 48 mm closed cartridge fork kit replaces it with a KYB fork with closed cartridges and Boano's own CNC triple clamps. According to Boano, travel is 296 mm while the seat height stays the same, and you keep the dual front brake discs. You choose between 5.6, 5.8 or 6.0 springs, depending on your weight and use.
- Ténéré 700 (2019-2024): KBKYB48T7, €3,374.95
- Ténéré 700 (2025): KBKYB48T7-25, €3,374.95
- Ténéré 700 World Raid: KBKYB48T7-WR, €3,556.95. This kit makes the World Raid lower and shorter than stock and has a different spring selection, because the WR is heavier.
For the World Raid and Extreme there is also a reinforced linkage (€480.95), machined from a single piece with larger bearings.
2. High front fender: which kit do you need?
The high front fender prevents mud from packing between the wheel and the fender. Boano sells it in separate kits that build on each other. Which combination you need depends on your front fork and the number of brake discs:
- Stock front fork: Kit A (drilling template, bolts and Acerbis fender, €58.95) plus Kit B (brake lines that run tight along the fork, €335.95). Together as Kit A+B for €366.95.
- KYB 48 Boano front fork with two brake discs: Kit C+D (€483.95). Kit D has a 3-way splitter, so you can connect the brake line via the ABS or directly to the master cylinder.
- KYB 48 Boano front fork with one brake disc: Kit C+E (€493.95). Kit E converts the T7 from two front brake discs to one, with a Nissin master cylinder.
Note on Kit C: it only fits the updated fork leg. If in doubt, send us a photo of your fork.
3. Chassis and drivetrain
- Frame Stabilizer (€359.95, World Raid version sold separately): a frame reinforcement that according to Boano gives a more precise front wheel and more grip at the rear.
- Gearbox balancer (€136.95): supports the shift shaft so the gears keep shifting well even with a hot engine. Boano recommends combining it with the BOANO sprocket guard.
- Chain guide kit (€164.95) with iron core, for the T7 from 2019 to 2024.
4. Riding position and control
- BOANO footpegs (€227.95): 11 x 6 cm aluminium platform with steel core, larger than stock and with holes so mud drains away.
- Widened footpeg kit (€118.95): moves the footpeg and brake pedal bracket 15 mm outwards, so your shin does not hit the clutch cover when braking.
5. Navigation and rally
- Support frame for the Garmin 750i (€238.95): mounted to the frame to reduce vibrations, adjustable in angle and without modifications to the stock windscreen.
- Rally licence plate holder (€240.95): homologated, with LED brake light and licence plate lighting. Made as standard for an Italian plate. For a non-Italian plate an adapted version is needed, so ask us about the options beforehand.
6. Electronics, offroad only
The ABS inhibitor (€277.95) permanently disables the ABS and according to Boano saves 1.4 kg. The ECU mapping without catalytic converter works with your own ECU. Neither part is permitted on public roads.
7. Maintenance
For routine maintenance there are three service kits: basic (oil filter and 3 kg of 10W-40 oil, €88.95), intermediate (plus air filter, €109.95) and complete (plus two NGK spark plugs, €148.95).
Frequently asked questions
Do the parts fit the Ténéré 700 as well as the World Raid and the Extreme?
Not always. The fork kits, the Frame Stabilizer, the seat covers and some of the graphics kits have a separate version for the World Raid. The reinforced linkage only fits the World Raid and Extreme. The product title always states which version it is for.
Can I fit the high front fender without the KYB fork?
Yes. With Kit A and Kit B you fit the high fender on the stock front fork.
What does a complete BOANO conversion cost?
That depends on what you choose. Kit A+B, the BOANO footpegs and the carbon frame guards cost €805.85 together. The KYB fork kit with Kit C+D costs €3,858.90 together.
