You choose the right MOOSE Racing parts first and foremost by the make, model and year of your bike or quad, and only then by version: material, colour, size or compound. The MOOSE Racing range at Femon Parts counts over 8,700 products, from wheel bearing kits and chains to brake pads, air filters, CV axles and handguards. In this guide you will read which product groups there are, how they differ and how to quickly find the part that fits your machine.
Which MOOSE Racing parts are available?
MOOSE Racing focuses on off-road, enduro, adventure and ATV/UTV. Most parts are designed as a direct replacement for the original part. The largest groups in the MOOSE Racing collection:
- Bearings and rebuild kits: wheel bearing kits, steering stem bearings, swingarm bearing kits and shock/linkage bearing kits.
- Drivetrain: chains, master links, front and rear sprockets, chain guides and, for ATV/UTV, drive belts and CV axles.
- Brakes: brake discs, brake pads, brake shoes, brake lines, rebuild kits for calipers and master cylinders.
- Cables, seals and gaskets: throttle, clutch, shift and brake cables, fork seals and a large range of gasket kits.
- Filters and electrical: air filters, oil filters, fuel filters, stators, rectifiers/voltage regulators and starter motors.
- Wheels and protection: rims, hubs, ATV wheels, skid plates, frame guards and handguards.
- ATV/UTV: A-arms, CV axles, racks, storage boxes and seat covers.
Bearing kits: wheel, steering stem, swingarm and linkage
Bearings wear out unnoticed due to water, mud and sand. MOOSE Racing supplies them as complete kits, so you can rebuild one position in one go:
- Wheel bearing kits contain the bearings and seals for one wheel. They are available separately for front and rear, so order per wheel.
- Steering stem bearing kits (Tapered Roller) replace original ball bearings with tapered roller bearings, or replace existing tapered roller bearings. Most kits also include upper and lower seals.
- Swingarm bearing kits contain, according to the manufacturer, all bearings, seals, shafts and spacers for a complete rebuild.
- Shock bearing kits are available per mounting position, for example at the top or bottom of the shock or the linkage.
Choosing a chain and sprockets
Chain and sprockets wear together. So ideally replace them at the same time and stick to the same chain size (for example 520). The range includes three chain lines:
| Chain | Type | Sizes and lengths in the range |
|---|---|---|
| RXP Series | Non-O-ring, aimed at motocross; according to the manufacturer for 125-350cc | 420, 428 and 520; 90 to 130 links |
| HPO Series | O-ring chain; according to the manufacturer for 350-450cc | 520; 84 to 120 links |
| FB Series | Sealed O-ring chain, the top model from MOOSE Racing | 520; 110 to 120 links |
Front sprockets are made of chromoly steel. Rear sprockets are available in steel and in 7075 aluminium, in colours such as black, silver, blue and red. Steel generally lasts longer, aluminium is lighter. If you want different gearing, choose a different number of teeth and, as the manufacturer advises, check the clearance if you go larger than stock. Do not forget the chain guide and chain slider: you will find them among the chain system parts.
Brake discs and brake pads: which compound?
For brake pads you can choose between organic and sintered:
- Organic (Qualifier): progressive feel, quiet and gentle on the brake disc.
- Sintered metal (including XCR): more wear-resistant and, according to the manufacturer, made for wet and severe conditions.
The replacement brake discs are made of high-carbon 420 stainless steel and laser cut for a flat profile. Note: the brake disc section also includes disc guards such as the Pro Shark Fin, which shield the rear caliper and disc. For ATV and UTV there are also brake shoes, stainless steel brake lines and rebuild kits for calipers and master cylinders.
Cables, seals, filters and electrical parts
- Cables: throttle, clutch, shift, brake and choke cables as OEM replacements, with a black vinyl outer casing and a pre-lubricated inner liner.
- Fork seals: kits with fork seals and dust seals, with triple lips. The inner diameter must match the diameter of your inner fork tubes; the range includes 30, 32, 35 and 37 mm, among others.
- Air filters: dual-stage foam filters, as a dry filter (Dry Air) or pre-oiled (Precision). There are also oil filters and fuel filters.
- Electrical: stators (including high-output), rectifiers/voltage regulators, ignition coils and starter motors, mainly for ATV and UTV.
Wheels, protection and ATV/UTV parts
For motorcycles there are separate aluminium rims in sizes including 21x1.6, 19x1.85, 19x2.15, 18x2.15 and 18x2.5. That is the rim only: you lace it to your own hub. For quads there are complete wheels such as the 387X, 415X and 416X, with hub caps.
Protection includes skid plates (including Pro and Case Saver), frame guards and handguards such as Contour, Probend, Qualifier and Rebound, plus separate mounting kits. For ATV and UTV, the MOOSE Racing parts also include A-arms, CV axles, drive belts, racks, storage boxes and snow chains. Hydration systems and soft luggage bags are not part of this range.
How to choose in 3 steps
- Note your make, model and year. At MOOSE Racing the fitment is shown in the title and under "Fits", for example Yamaha, Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki, KTM, Husqvarna, GASGAS, Beta or Sherco, and for ATV/UTV also Can-Am, Polaris and Arctic Cat.
- Choose the right position and size. Front or rear, top or bottom, chain size and number of links, number of teeth, fork diameter or rim size.
- Choose the version. Material (steel or aluminium), compound (organic or sintered), filter type and colour.
Frequently asked questions
How do I know if a MOOSE Racing part fits my bike?
Check the make, model and year in the product title and under "Fits". Many parts cover a range of models and years from one make. If in doubt, compare with the original part or send us your make, model and year.
Which MOOSE Racing chain do I need?
Start with your bike's chain size, such as 420, 428 or 520, and the number of links. The RXP Series is a non-O-ring chain for motocross, the HPO Series an O-ring chain and the FB Series the strongest sealed chain from MOOSE Racing. Ideally, replace the sprockets at the same time as the chain.
What is the difference between organic and sintered brake pads?
Organic brake pads give a progressive feel, are quiet and are gentle on the brake disc. Sintered brake pads, such as the XCR series, are more wear-resistant and intended for wet and severe conditions. Choose based on how and where you ride.
Does a MOOSE Racing wheel bearing kit contain everything for one wheel?
Yes. A wheel bearing kit contains the bearings and seals to rebuild one wheel. Front and rear wheels often have their own kit, so order per wheel and per position.
What size fork seal do I need?
The inner diameter of the seal must match the diameter of your fork's inner tubes. MOOSE Racing kits contain fork seals and dust seals and are available in sizes including 30, 32, 35 and 37 mm. Choose by make, model and year to be sure of the right size.
What is the difference between a Precision and a Dry Air air filter?
Both are dual-stage foam filters. The Precision filter comes pre-oiled, so you can fit it straight away. The Dry Air filter is supplied dry.
