Front sprocket from AFAM in steel for a 520 drive chain, available with 13 teeth. This is a self-cleaning version.

AFAM has been developing and producing sprockets since 1975 and supplies OEM parts to several motorcycle manufacturers. Aluminum versions are CNC-machined from 7075-T6 aerospace aluminum, steel versions from hardened C45 steel. Production takes place in Belgium.

Selecting the right tooth count

The number of teeth determines the gear ratio. Find the standard OEM tooth count in your service manual. More rear teeth give faster acceleration but lower top speed; fewer rear teeth give higher top speed but slower acceleration.
