Rear sprocket from AFAM in aluminium (Ultra Light, machined from 7075-T6 aluminium) for a 520 drive chain, available with 42 teeth. The finish is hard anodized.

AFAM has been developing and producing sprockets since 1975 and is an OEM supplier for various motorcycle manufacturers. Aluminum versions are machined from 7075-T6 aerospace aluminum, steel versions from hardened C45 steel. Production takes place in Belgium.

Choosing the tooth count

The number of teeth determines your motorcycle's gear ratio. You can find the standard OEM tooth count in the workshop manual. More teeth on the rear sprocket result in faster acceleration but lower top speed; fewer teeth on the rear sprocket result in higher top speed but slower acceleration.
