AFAM has been developing and producing sprockets since 1975 and supplies OEM parts to several motorcycle manufacturers. Aluminium versions are CNC-machined from 7075-T6 aerospace aluminium, steel versions from hardened C45 steel. Production takes place in Belgium.

Choosing tooth count

The number of teeth determines your motorcycle's gear ratio. You can find the standard OEM tooth count in the workshop manual. More teeth at the rear provide faster acceleration but lower top speed; fewer teeth at the rear provide higher top speed but slower acceleration.
