About Motorcycle USB chargers and cables
Which USB charger suits your motorcycle?
Navigation, music and filming drain your phone battery quickly. A USB charger or a wireless charging head keeps your phone topped up while you ride. Here you'll find chargers, built-in sockets and cables from Oxford, Koso, Highsider, Daytona and Quad Lock. For each product, check three things: the connector (USB-A or USB-C), the power output and how it connects to the 12V electrical system.
USB-A or USB-C?
First check which cable your phone uses. Many phones charge via USB-C, older iPhones via Lightning. There are chargers with USB-C, such as the Oxford 3 A and the Daytona built-in socket with 18 W PD. There are also chargers with USB-A, such as the Oxford 3 A with 3M adhesive pad and the Daytona versions with 2 ports. With a USB-A charger you need a USB-A to USB-C cable. For an iPhone with Lightning there is the 20 cm Quad Lock USB to Lightning cable.
How to connect the charger
- Directly to the battery: the Oxford USB-C charger 3 A.
- 12-24 V with adhesive pad: the Oxford USB-A charger 3 A, fixed with a 3M adhesive pad.
- Built-in socket: Daytona USB-C (18 W PD), Koso 2.0 A with safety cut-off and the Highsider 2-way USB sockets at 12 V.
- On the handlebar: the Daytona chargers for handlebars of 22.2 or 25.4 mm, with 2 ports or in a slim USB-C version.
- With SAE cable: the Quad Lock USB charger for motorcycles.

Wireless charging with Quad Lock
If you ride with a Quad Lock mount, you can choose the waterproof wireless charging head for motorcycle and e-bike, or the V2 for 12-24 V. Wireless charging only works if your phone or case supports it. You also need the right cable: the USB-C cable for the Waterproof Wireless Charging Head, the angled USB-A to USB-C cable or the weatherproof cable set. The 360 small base with cable pass-through guides the cable neatly through the mount. Read more about the mounts themselves in our motorcycle phone mounts.
Cable length and vibration
Choose the cable based on the distance between charger and phone. The 20 cm cables suit a short run, the 1.5 m and 2 m cables a longer one. A cable that is stretched tight or rubs against the handlebar is a bad idea, so leave enough slack for steering.
If your phone sits on the handlebar in a Quad Lock mount, also consider a vibration dampener. It protects your phone's OIS camera from engine vibration. If you want to film while charging, also see the motorcycle camera mounts. You'll find a detailed explanation in our guide charging your phone on a motorcycle.
